Valley River Fishing
Right here in the heart of the Great Smoky Mountains you’ll find one of our favorite rivers, the Valley River. Not too great a surprise considering our name. The Valley River RV Resort is nestled right in the mountains with easy access to some truly great fishing.
Unforgettable Fun
Fishing is a way of life. That’s not too bold a statement, just ask any one that fishes, and they’ll likely tell you the same or maybe even go further. We’ve all heard “Give a man a fish” phrase. There is just something utterly peaceful about getting out into the wilderness and spending a day or two in solitude pitting your skills against nature.
While you can certainly find that, you’ll also be able to do some good fishing without being too far from a shower and a comfortable bed. Now, here on-site there is a lake for fishing, but sometimes you want to try your hand at moving water and who can blame you? River fishing should be at the top of the list of things to do.
River of Fish
The Valley River begins in the foothills near the Nantahala Forest. It winds its way west through the valley between Andrews and Murphy. Saying windy might be underplaying it a bit. There are a host of S curves.
You can find all sorts of access points from the state and county roads. Now, fall is well and truly arrived, so you’ll find that the trout have moved up the river. That is, moved eastward, and the best place to find them are in the small streams. I’ve mentioned trout, but you’ll also find smallmouth, catfish, and brim.
