The Tsali Recreation Area
To immerse yourself in nature, there is one great spot that you ought to check out and that we’ve somehow forgotten to mention, the Tsali Recreation Area. You’ll find it located about an hour to the northwest along 74 near Bryson City. There you’ll be able to take in the beauty of the Nantahala National Forest area and Fontana Lake.
Mountain Biking
There are a variety of activities for you to take part in once you get up there; mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, camping, fishing, and boating. They have four main trails; Tsali Trail Right Loop, Tsali Trail left Loop, Mouse Branch Loop Trail, and Thompson Loop Trail. The trail difficulty ranges from 4 to 8, meaning that they’re on the high end of easy to the high end of moderate.
