A Great Smoky Mountain Springtime
The Great Smokey Mountains are beautiful in the winter. That is one that that you can be sure of. While we do love the beauty of the mountains in winter, all things need to pass and so does the winter season. Sometimes you can feel a little cooped up in the winter and spring feels very welcome.
With that in mind now is a good time to talk about some of the fun and great activities you can do outdoors in Cherokee County when you’re staying at the Valley River RV Resort.
The Great Outdoors
If you’ve never been zip-lining then that should probably be your first warm weather activity. It is hard to overstate the enjoyment of flying thought the trees. You’ll have the chance to see the beauty of the area as the birds do.
If you’re felling extra adventurous you can try the obstacle course set in the sky. If you’re looking for something more sedate, you can try getting in a round or two of golf in the fresh mountain air. You’ve got several courses to choose from.
Forests and Rivers
There are three delayed harvest streams and a Trout Unlimited Top 100 Stream. If you’re interested in hunting rather than fishing, then you’re in luck. You can find deer, black bear, and wild turkey. You’ll need to get a hunting and fishing license for that.
So, check with the Wildlife Resources Commission. They can give you more specific information if this interests you. Neither hunting nor fishing interests you? Well, how about hiking? There are some fantastic trails that will lead you through the woods and along the forests.
